The Rehmat Card is a Punjab government programme launched on 1 May 2026 to give one-time financial support to eligible widows and orphans from the provincial Zakat fund. The government announced a fund of Rs 5 billion for an initial phase covering 50,000 families.

Practical tips for applicants

How Zakat funding works

Pakistan's Zakat and Ushr system collects zakat from eligible bank balances on 1 Ramadan, and provincial funds distribute it through programmes. Because Rehmat Card is Zakat-funded, the rules about who qualifies are linked to who may receive zakat. You can read more on calculating your own obligation in the zakat calculator.

Other support to consider

Families may also qualify for health coverage under the Sehat Card. Students from low-income families can look at the scholarships guide, and the Punjab student e-bike scheme offers subsidised transport for eligible students. Browse everything on the government schemes page, or check household budgets with the salary calculator and electricity bill calculator.
