How the age calculator works
The calculator subtracts your date of birth from the "calculate as of" date, counting complete years first, then the remaining months and days. It handles different month lengths and leap years, so the result matches what you would count on a calendar. By default it uses today's date, but you can pick any past or future date, which is useful when you need to know how old someone will be on a deadline.
When you need an exact age
Age limits are strict in Pakistan. Government job advertisements, PPSC and FPSC recruitment, armed forces courses, school admissions and scholarship programmes all set a maximum or minimum age on a cut-off date given in the advertisement, usually the closing date. Enter your date of birth and set the "as of" date to that cut-off to see whether you qualify, including relaxations for categories listed in the advertisement.
How to use it
- Select your date of birth.
- Leave the second date as today, or choose the cut-off date from an advertisement.
- Read your age in years, months, weeks and days together with your next birthday.

Worked example
Someone born on 15 March 1998 asks their age on 10 October 2026. Counting complete years gives 28 (the 28th birthday was on 15 March 2026). From 15 March to 10 October is 6 months and 25 days. So the age is 28 years, 6 months and 25 days, which is about 10,436 days.
Age limits in Pakistan: points to check
- The cut-off date is usually the closing date or a fixed date printed in the advertisement.
- Age relaxations (for example for certain categories or serving employees) are stated in the advertisement.
- The date of birth must match your matric certificate, which is generally the document used for age verification.
- For armed forces courses, age is measured on a date specified in the advertisement, so use that date, not today's.
Other uses
Age in days is useful for baby milestones, while the next-birthday countdown is fun for planning. Employers use age for retirement planning, and students use it for admission forms. Combine this tool with the date calculator for deadlines and the BMI calculator for health checks. Planning to apply for a job?
